As the trend from ownership to the usage of IS accelerates, the number of corporate groups that test-implement cloud environments using shared services, is also growing. "The IS departments of user companies should actively support the use of preventive solutions necessary for managing outsourcers/outsourcing services for IT governance in cloud environments, in collaboration with business departments handling the shared services. These include IT due diligence/technological assessment, service-level agreement (SLA), and business continuity management/disaster recovery planning solutions," says Eiji Sasahara, research manager, IT spending, IDC Japan.
