From 2010 onward, IDC divides the Japan UC market into the UC platform, UC application, UC application services market (new), and UC professional services. By solution type, IDC classifies the market into the IP telephony (IPT), enterprise VoIP services, unified messaging (UM)/presence management, IP conferencing systems/telepresence, and IP contact center (IPCC) systems for analysis and forecasting. The Japan UC market contracted in 2009 due to the slump in the IPT and UM/presence management systems markets that were affected by the Japan economy.
