Vendor market shares are calculated according to port shipments and revenues. In addition, vendor shares are divided on a country-by-country basis for Western Europe, while shipments and revenues for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (CEMA) are provided as a single region.
"Broadband net additions are no longer the main driver for the development of the broadband infrastructure market in EMEA," said Jan Hein Bakkers, research manager at IDC. "The upgrade to higher-capacity technologies such as DOCSIS 3.0 and VDSL2 is now the key driving force."
