This study, based on IDC Canada's telecom market model, presents our updated five-year telecom services forecast as well as summary-segmented forecasts by customer segment, company size, industry sector, and region. It is an essential document for any player in the Canadian telecom services market. The telecom service market segments in Canada were not unaffected by the poor economic climate in 2009. The Canadian telecommunication services sector recorded spending of C$39.9 billion in 2009 ? a modest 0.5 per cent gain from a year earlier in contrast to 2008 year-over-year growth of 6.1 per cent. We expect the telecom service sector to exhibit a more robust recovery to traditional growth levels in 2010, with annual growth of almost 5 per cent.
