Internet penetration across Eastern Europe is rising due to increased competition and expanding broadband availability, which accounts for the majority of Internet connections in most Eastern European countries. With speed a key product differentiator, fibre is becoming more common, with cable TV operators implementing EuroDOCSIS3.0 technology to offer speeds in excess of 100Mb/s. Mobile broadband has emerged as a viable substitute for fixed offerings in some countries due to generous data allowances and/or lack of competing broadband platforms. Digital TV is offered in all countries via broadband TV (IPTV), cable, satellite or digital terrestrial TV (DTTV).

Brief comments relating to individual countries are given at the start of each chapter.
